When a grieving Sun Im Kim of Buena Park reached out to hold on to the back of the hearse carrying the body of her son, her anguish was captured by photographer Kari Rene Hall. Days earlier, Hong Il Kim was shot to death by police officers when he drove toward them after a chase. (Feb. 20, 1996)
