A Banner Day for Northridge

It was a record day for the Cal State Northridge baseball team.
The Matadors clobbered UC Santa Barbara for a 31-9 victory Tuesday in a nonconference game at Santa Barbara. Northridge (29-15-1), which has won five of its last six games, set school records with 14 runs and 13 hits in the first inning against the Gauchos (16-19). The Matadors’ 31 runs also is a record.
Chris MacMillan and Adrian Mendoza each had four hits and Terrmel Sledge and Jose Miranda had three apiece to lead the Matadors’ 27-hit attack.
