Simi Valley police are looking for a man who used a chrome-plated handgun to rob a cigarette store of more than $700.
The man, described as about 5 feet, 10 inches tall and 180 pounds, with short blond hair, walked into the Cig Store at 660 E. Los Angeles Ave. about 5:40 p.m. Monday and asked for a pack of cigarettes. When cashier Mouin Elmoughrabi, 32, opened the register, the man pulled out the gun, a police spokesman said.
Pointing the gun at Elmoughrabi’s head, the man ordered him into the back room of the store, forced him to take off his shoes and lay face down on the floor, the spokesman said.
Using the cashier’s shoelaces, the man tied him up, took his wallet, then robbed the register, the spokesman said.
The man stole about $40 from the cashier and another $700 from the register. He was last seen wearing a light blue baseball cap, blue short-sleeve shirt and blue jeans.
