Carmen G. Arciniega; Longtime Resident

Longtime county resident Carmen Gutierrez Arciniega died Thursday at home in Ventura after a brief illness. She was 77.
Arciniega was born March 14, 1920, in Jacona, Michoacan, Mexico, and lived in Ventura County for 50 years.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Ventura and was a homemaker.
Arciniega is survived by daughters Lupe Martinez, Carmen Buford and Teresa Knicklebine; sons Carlos, Richard and Danny Pinal, all of Ventura; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother Ramon Gutierrez of Mexico; and sisters Lupe Ochoa of Ventura and Consuelo Gutierrez of the San Fernando Valley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlos, in 1992, and a son, Jorge, in 1956.
Friends may call Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Ted Mayr Funeral Home, Ventura. Rosary will be Monday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home, with a funeral Mass on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Church of Ventura. Burial will follow in Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, Ventura.
