Clipper update--They have lost the first two games of a seven-game, 12-day trip and have dropped into eighth place in the Western Conference, half a game behind Phoenix--winner of five in a row--and three games ahead of Sacramento. The Clippers suffered their worst defeat of the season, losing by 28 points to Detroit on Friday night.
Pacer update--Three consecutive victories have brought the Pacers to within two games of the Cleveland Cavaliers for eighth place in the Eastern Conference. Reggie Miller made eight three-point shots to tie a team record and scored 39 points, one under his season high, in a 116-115 victory at Charlotte on Friday. The Pacers have won their last eight games against the Clippers, including a 108-93 victory Jan. 15 at the Sports Arena.
