Deputies Intend to Target Speeders on Erbes Road

THOUSAND OAKS — Motorists should think again about exceeding the speed limit on Erbes Road at Monte Carlo Drive in Thousand Oaks, beginning today.
The area near Sunset Park has been designated the Traffic Tip of the Week by the county Sheriff’s Department Traffic Safety Bureau in Thousand Oaks.
Through Friday, deputies will be aggressively enforcing the 40-mph speed limit on Erbes Road near the park, according to Sheriff’s Sgt. Ken Bailey. There is a bus stop in the area, and on weekdays many children cross Erbes Road in the morning and afternoon, he said.
The department is taking a high-profile approach to enforcement after receiving numerous complaints of motorists driving too fast in the area, Bailey said.
