VALENCIA — A 42-year-old Saugus man was killed Friday morning after his car inexplicably drifted off the side of the road.
Paul Balderrama died about two hours later at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital.
According to deputy Mike Shapiro of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Balderrama had just dropped his wife off at work and was driving north on McBean Parkway when his car drifted off the side of the road about 8:20 a.m. and struck a telephone pole and several trees.
Witnesses said there were no other cars involved nor any evident reason why Balderrama’s car went off the road, Shapiro said.
