Man from Orange Drowns in Lake

IRVINE — An unidentified man from Orange fell out of a small fishing boat on Irvine Lake on Wednesday and drowned, authorities said.
The 25-year-old man, whose name was being withheld, was fishing with two friends when he fell out of the boat, said Lt. Fred Lisanti of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
One of his friends jumped into the water to try to save the man but was unsuccessful, Lisanti said.
Efforts to locate the man’s body also were unsuccessful. A dive team from the Sheriff’s Department will search for the body this morning about 7, Lisanti said.
