Western Digital to Boost Number of Shares

IRVINE — Western Digital Corp. said it plans to boost the number of its outstanding shares from 95 million to 225 million to meet a variety of possible future business needs.
The shares could be issued, for example, if computer disk drive manufacturer’s board decides to declare a stock dividend or stock split, or to provide stock for employee benefit or management incentive plans, the company said.
