A community workshop designed to generate public input on the city’s downtown redevelopment area will be held March 1 from 9 a.m. to noon.
“Shaping the Downtown” will begin at the Brea Civic & Cultural Center and will end with a tour of the site.
City officials said they are looking for ideas for public art and gathering spaces, celebrations and special events, themes and graphics, and landmarks.
In the mid-1980s, the city embarked on a $125-million project designed to remake the aging downtown and create a pedestrian-friendly plaza.
Those interested in attending the workshop are asked to call (714) 990-7135 to reserve a space.
The Civic & Cultural Center is at 1 Civic Center Circle.
