Authorities say alcohol may have been involved in a single-car traffic accident Saturday on Pacific Coast Highway that killed a 56-year-old Oxnard man.
Officers from the California Highway Patrol said Vincent James Nobile was driving south about 10:30 a.m., when his car crossed into the northbound lane, one-half mile south of Las Posas Road.
Nobile tried to get the car back into the southbound lane but ran off the road. His car rolled onto its side, authorities said.
Nobile was ejected and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to an official with the Ventura County medical examiner’s office.
An autopsy is scheduled for today.
A passenger in the vehicle, 42-year-old James Howard Ormiston of Oxnard, was airlifted to Ventura County Medical Center with minor injuries.
