Counterfeit Designer Clothing Labels Seized

Sheriff’s detectives seized hundreds of thousands of counterfeit designer clothing labels Wednesday at a Montebello self-storage facility, authorities said.
Among the labels were such designer names as Gucci, Nike, Fila, Tommy Hilfiger and Gianni Versace.
An anonymous informant told detectives about a Walnut Park garment factory where the labels were being sewn on clothing, said Sgt. Jim LeBlanc. Detectives obtained information at the factory that led them to the facility where the labels were being stored.
“What makes this operation unusual is that the suspects not only had access to the labels, but they also had the ability to manufacture the clothing,” LeBlanc said. “At this point, a number of arrests are pending.”
