Tax Seminar for Employers Scheduled

The state Employment Development Department will hold its monthly employment tax seminar Wednesday at the Ventura campus of Cal State Northridge.
The free seminar, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., is for local employers as well as those just starting their businesses or considering hiring for the first time.
From 9 to 10:15 a.m., the seminar will cover state payroll-reporting requirements. Federal requirements will be covered from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. The final hour will cover the difference between employees and independent contractors.
