Free holiday activities for families, sponsored by the San Fernando Recreation and Community Service Department, will be held this week at city parks.
On Tuesday, an arts-and-crafts workshop will be held in the gymnasium at Las Palmas Park between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. With the assistance of city recreation leaders, kids and parents will be able to create a variety of holiday crafts, including Christmas tree ornaments, wreaths and candy-cane reindeer, said Nicole De La Cerda, San Fernando recreation coordinator.
In what has become a holiday tradition, the San Fernando Lions Club will sponsor a holiday performance of Bob Baker’s Marionettes at Recreation Park on Thursday at 7 p.m. In addition to the puppet show, children will be able to have their photograph taken with Santa Claus.
Free refreshments will be served at both events.
La Palmas Park is located at 505 S. Huntington St. Recreation Park is at 208 Park Ave. For more information, call (818) 898-2155.
