A two-week holiday camp for children ages 6 through 12 will be conducted during the school winter break at the new Juan Bautista de Anza Park by the Calabasas Community Services Department.
Activities will include arts and crafts, nature hikes, sports, short field trips, in-line skating and a visit from Santa Claus.
City officials said the program is designed to give children a more structured environment while they are in the park during their break from classes.
Parents are encouraged to sign up for the camp before the first session on Dec. 23. Each $20 session will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., three times a week: Dec. 23, 26 and 27, and Dec. 30, Jan. 2 and 3.
The park, at 3701 Lost Hills Road, is equipped with several age-appropriate play areas for children, ranging from toddlers to teens. Also featured is a multiuse sports court for roller hockey, basketball and volleyball.
Most of the planned activities are to be conducted inside in anticipation of colder weather, but city officials said the children will move outside if the weather is warmer.
Registration is available by calling (818) 880-6461.
