Authorities have made another bust in connection with drug sales at fast-food restaurants on Ventura Avenue.
Ventura police officers served a search warrant at Vargas Restaurant, 880 Ventura Ave., on Friday at 8:40 p.m. They found an undisclosed amount of powder cocaine as well as money from sales, a pager and drug sales packaging material, said Sgt. Douglas Auldridge.
The officers arrested restaurant owners Jose Vargas, 23, and his wife, Claudia, 20, of Ventura. They were booked into County Jail on suspicion of possessing cocaine for sale. Both were released from jail Saturday.
In October, three people were arrested in connection with selling cocaine from Quintero’s restaurant, 1580 Ventura Ave., Auldridge said.
Officers do not believe alleged drug sales at the restaurants are connected.
