Local podiatrists who have been collecting shoes for the needy since October are urging residents to make last-minute donations of used or new footwear for distribution Thursday.
All types of shoes are being accepted, and children’s shoes are especially needed, organizers of the drive said.
Shoes may be dropped off at several locations, including the office of Dr. Gregory Eirich, 661 W. 1st St., Suite D, Tustin; the Walking Company store at Crystal Court, 3333 Bear St., Costa Mesa; and Racquetball World and Aerobic Health Center, 1901 E. 1st St., Santa Ana.
The podiatrists hope to give several thousand families new shoes this holiday season.
For more information or to find the nearest drop-off site, call the Orange County Podiatric Medical Assn. at (714) 280-0222.
