‘BUMPY’ ROLE

In Gene Mustain’s article on the new face of gangster films (“All Sorts of ‘Fellas,” Nov. 3), he talks about the character of Ellsworth “Bumpy” Johnson, whom Laurence Fishburne plays in the upcoming film “Hoodlum.”
This will be the second time that Fishburne has played this role: The first time was in Francis Coppola’s “Cotton Club” in 1984.
