As a parent, I am honored to have Judith Magsaysay in the Santa Ana Unified School District. Most educators do not take the time or effort to get together with the parents, much less go door to door around the neighborhood introducing themselves.
Magsaysay was determined to found a Parent Safety Committee, along with the parents, for the protection of our children, since Pio Pico Elementary School is in a somewhat insecure area.
It is clear that this extraordinary educator does not take her work as a 40-hour job but as a profound commitment of what education means to her.
Parents and educators from every city, state and country should team up with a strong, positive attitude, so all of us provide a successful future for our children.
