San Pedro (16-7-1) should avoid Woodland Hills El Camino Real in future playoff matchups. San Pedro, winner of three City Division 4-A titles in the last five years, gave up two unearned runs in the top of the seventh inning in a 3-1 semifinal loss to the Conquistadores on Tuesday. El Camino Real has defeated the Pirates in seven of the last eight meetings, including the 1994 title game. The second-seeded Conquistadores will play top-seeded Granada Hills Kennedy for the championship Tuesday at UCLA. . . . Verdugo Hills (20-3) scored three runs in the third inning, two on a single by Rian Standley, to defeat Palisades, 4-2, in a City 3-A semifinal. Verdugo Hills, making its fourth consecutive trip the finals, will face South Gate, a 2-0 semifinal winner over Westchester, in a rematch of the 1993 title game.
