K9 PATROL: Gardena police today will introduce their new canine to residents, who chipped in about $11,000 for the dog.
Brixx was purchased in March to replace 10-year-old Fredd, who was having trouble jumping and clearing obstacles.
After Brixx’s introduction, community organizations that helped pay for the dog will be honored during the open house at 10 a.m. at 1718 W. 162th St.
