NEWPORT BEACH — A 35-year-old woman was killed Saturday morning after her car was hit by a driver who apparently did not heed a red traffic light, police said.
Tracy Lynn Wolonsky of Newport Beach died at the scene after her car collided at 8:48 a.m. with one driven by a 45-year-old Irvine man, said Sgt. Fred Heinecke of the Newport Beach Police Department.
Wolonsky was driving on Bison Avenue through the intersection at Jamboree Road when the collision occurred, Heinecke said.
The other driver, whose name was not released Saturday, was uninjured. An investigation is continuing, but Heinecke said police think the Irvine man failed to stop for the traffic signal.
