Will Kids Be Ready for the Real World?

Re “The Ready Room” (Jan. 24): To allow children to hibernate in a sea of electronics and only to experience life via a computer screen makes me wonder why these parents conceived children in the first place. Are today’s parents so unprepared to raise and interact with children that they would allow them to live their every waking hour glued to their computer terminals?
I sympathize with the maladjusted children depicted in this article. One day they will have to step outside the security of their rooms and face the real world without their laptops.
