Re “High Court Backs Law to Spur Voter Registration,” Jan. 23: Registering to vote, along with other services, would require only the checking off of a party affiliation. The other data is already there. Compare this with thousands of people sitting at tables around the state registering voters. Gov. Pete Wilson is wrong. It would be a consolidation of two efforts into one and would save the state millions of dollars. Having spent my life programming computers I know the program changes would be simple and inexpensive.
