Animation, Imaging Classes Offered at UCLA

Three-dimensional animation and two-dimensional painting and imaging techniques are among a series of eight digital image creation workshops being offered this winter by UCLA Extension and Weynand Training International.
All classes are being taught on Silicon Graphics computers at the new Silicon Studio Training Center, 1417 2nd St. in Santa Monica.
Tonia Young-Bilderbeck, whose graphics and optical effects credits include “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” “Batman Forever” and “The Muppet Christmas,” will teach “2-D Paint and Imaging Techniques” on Saturdays starting Jan. 27 at 8:30 a.m.
Digital and paintbox artist Mike Lamb and Juniko Moody, a digital artist who has worked on “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” “2010,” “The Addams Family” and “The Philadelphia Experiment,” will be instructors in “3-D Animation” from Feb. 12-16 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
