Four-Star Films : ‘The Four Feathers’

There are those of us who quite like the second (1928) silent version of A.E.W. Mason’s imperial adventure, but it’s this elaborate, sweeping 1939 Zoltan Korda-directed production that’s most loved. Ralph Richardson, C. Aubrey Smith, John Clements and June Dupree (both pictured) star in this enduring--it was remade two more times--tale of a British military man who must disprove charges of cowardice by heroic behavior during a Sudanese uprising (Sunday Bravo at noon, Monday at 9:30 a.m., Friday at 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.).
