EAST LOS ANGELES : Golf Event Raises $20,000 for YMCA

The East Los Angeles YMCA raised $20,000 at its second annual Navidad Golf Tournament last month.
The golf tournament, which is one of the organization’s major fund-raisers, was held at the California Country Club in Whittier and attracted 115 golfers, administrative assistant Maria Becerra said.
The YMCA, located at 2900 Whittier Blvd., hopes to raise $100,000 for its operations by April, Becerra said.
Opened in 1990, the YMCA offers child care, a preschool, camping, aquatics, youth sports, family fitness, ballet for girls and youth groups. It has 2,000 members.
