SEASON AT A GLANCE: Shrout, a 6-foot-1, 230-pounder was a dominant defensive lineman and kicker. He made nine of 13 field goals and punted for a 39.5-yard average. In the Antelopes’ four playoff games, he kicked seven field goals. He was named to the All-Golden League at both positions.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: Shrout played a leading role in the Antelopes’ 36-15 dismantling of Hart in the Southern Section Division II championship game. He kicked field goals of 45, 28 and 43 yards and sacked Hart’s Steve McKeon four times, leading a defense that caused five first-half turnovers. “It was my best field-goal game and defensive game altogether,” Shrout said.
