Jacobson Will Play for Navy

Blake Jacobson, a 6-foot-8 center at Crescenta Valley High, has accepted an appointment to the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., where he will play basketball.
Jacobson also took recruiting trips to the Air Force Academy and the U.S. Military Academy.
“I think (a military academy) can offer what no other school can offer,” Jacobson said. “At a normal school you go four years and you play basketball and you are not even guaranteed a degree. At an academy, you get a great education and they pretty much guarantee you a degree, because they work with you so much. And then you have a job.”
Jacobson averaged 8.9 points and 10.0 rebounds last year for the Falcons, who were the Southern Section Division I-AA runners-up.
