Twice The Vice Finds Santa Anita Thrice Nice

All Twice The Vice needed was a return to a track she likes.
After racing on soft turf at Belmont Park and a track at Keeneland that promoted speed horses in her two previous starts, Twice The Vice rebounded in a big way Wednesday at Santa Anita, pulling away through the stretch under Eddie Delahoussaye and beating Malli Star by five lengths in the $101,150 Linda Vista Breeders’ Cup Handicap.
A winner of five of eight starts overall, Twice The Vice is now perfect in three starts at Santa Anita. She picked up $61,150 Wednesday for owners Bob and Beverly Lewis and covered the 1 1/16 miles in 1:41 2/5. She paid $9.40 as the 7-2 second choice.
Malli Star, who finished second behind Twice The Vice in the Del Mar Oaks, was third.
