Wall Street Money Laundering Panel Formed: A securities industry committee headed by a Merrill Lynch & Co. lawyer is searching for improved ways of identifying and prohibiting money laundering in the securities industry. The panel was formed at the request of the U.S. Treasury and the U.S. Customs Service, a Dean Witter spokesman said. Federal regulators have seized more than $10 million from customer accounts at Merrill Lynch, Dean Witter, Prudential Securities and PaineWebber Group.
