Lady Luck smiled upon a Glendale businessman Friday, when he won $100,000 in the lottery.
“I feel great,” said Serjik Gholi, who said he could hardly believe his good fortune. “Once I receive the check I will believe it.”
Gholi’s lucky scratcher ticket, purchased at an Alpha Beta Market in Glendale, made him eligible to play the Big Spin game on Friday. The 34-year-old selected two matching squares from a game board, which allowed him to spin the big money wheel.
A flick of the wrist netted him $100,000--the fourth-largest amount on the wheel.
The owner of a business that sells fire-sprinkler systems, Gholi said his immediate plans are to take family and friends out for a celebration dinner. Next, he said, he will help his parents buy a house, and buy himself a car to replace one that was stolen two weeks ago.
Gholi will receive a lump-sum check for about $72,000 after taxes.
