OJAI : Several Groups to Share Federal Funds

Area public service groups and a community improvement project will share $95,268 in federal funds earmarked for the city of Ojai after the Jan. 17 earthquake, city officials said.
More than a dozen nonprofit organizations applied for a piece of Ojai’s Community Development Block Grant money, but the bulk of the funding divided up Tuesday went to local groups and projects.
The city allocated $49,658 for street improvements on South Montgomery Street, $26,420 for city administration of the grant, $6,790 for Concerned Resource and Environmental Workers, $3,300 for Assn. for Retarded Citizens of Ventura County, $2,000 for Interface Services, $2,000 for Food Share, $2,000 for LTC Ombudsman Program, $1,600 for Ventura County Fair Housing Council programs and $1,500 for Help of Ojai, Inc.
