LOS ANGELES : Clean Air Transportation Projects Get $8 Million
- Share via
The South Coast Air Quality Management District board Friday granted more than $8 million to fund 38 clean-air transportation projects, including several proposed by the City of Los Angeles.
Projects to receive funds next year include three electric buses for the Hollywood Dash system, a solar-charging station in Azusa, and conversion of some vehicles of the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department, Los Angeles Unified School District and cities of Glendale and Compton to cleaner-burning fuels such as compressed natural gas. The money comes from a vehicle registration fee imposed by a 1990 state law.
