MAI-IBM Marketing Agreement: MAI Systems Corp. said Thursday that it will sell a series of computer workstations manufactured by International Business Machines Corp.
MAI, an Irvine software and computer maintenance company that emerged from Chapter 11 proceedings last month, will sell the IBM-made business computers under its own name and license software from IBM.
The computers are based on IBM’s RISC--reduced instruction set computing--technology that gives businesses more computing power than traditional personal computers but less than expensive, centralized computers known as mainframes.
