QVC to Launch New TV Shopping Network: QVC Network Inc., the nation’s largest electronic retailer, said it will launch Q2, a second home shopping television channel, in late spring, 1994. QVC said the new channel, to operate on weekends, will target what it described as “busy, active people who want information and products to make the most of their leisure time.” It will offer for sale sports, health and beauty, family life, entertainment and travel products. The company also said it will launch On Q, a channel aimed at younger audiences. Initially running on the weekdays, On Q will replace The Fashion Channel, the company said. On Q will focus on current trends and sell adult and children’s clothing, accessories, jewelry and cosmetics, the company said.
