Russia to Join NATO in Naval Exercises

OSLO — Russia will take part in a naval exercise with the United States and four other NATO nations in Arctic waters off Norway next year, Norwegian Defense Minister Joergen Kosmo said Friday.
He said the exercise in the Barents Sea in late March would practice enforcing U.N.-style naval blockades and rehearse sea rescues. A similar East-West exercise was held in the Baltic Sea this year.
