WORLD IN BRIEF : INDIA : Mother Teresa Placed in Intensive Care

Nobel laureate Mother Teresa was admitted to the intensive care unit of a New Delhi hospital after she developed fever and a lung infection, her physicians said. The Roman Catholic nun was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences after she came to New Delhi to receive an award. “Her condition is stable, she is sleeping right now,” said Asish Roy, an attending physician. Mother Teresa, who will turn 83 Friday, was taken to the hospital after she complained of restlessness during the day, and doctors advised that she be admitted immediately.
