Leftist Terrorists

* It was a pleasant surprise to read your editorial (Aug. 1) acknowledging that a large network of international leftist terrorists operated in Nicaragua during the tenure of Daniel Ortega and the communist Sandinistas. Although the editorial did not state that this operation could not have operated without the knowledge and assistance of the Sandinistas, it is clear that this is true. It would have been refreshing if your editorial would also have mentioned that the longtime liberal Democratic support for the Sandinistas and their opposition to President Reagan’s attempt to overthrow the Sandinistas were not justified in light of this new revelation.
