George Bush’s Boat Drifts Onto Rocks

KENNEBUNKPORT, Me. — Former President George Bush has been left high and dry.
His speedboat Fidelity nearly sank last weekend after it broke free from its mooring and drifted onto nearby rocks, authorities said Friday. Richard Roy, deputy fire chief of neighboring Kennebunk, said by the time the 20-foot cigarette boat was retrieved it was nearly filled with seawater.
Authorities said they did not know how long it would take to repair the boat. Bush has spent much of this summer in Maine working on a book on world affairs.
When Bush was President he often went on fishing outings aboard Fidelity during summer vacations.
