SANTA ANA : School District Will Host Parenting Day

More than 2,500 parents and students are expected to participate in the Santa Ana Unified School District’s Parenting Day on Saturday.
The event, which offers seminars on gang and drug activity, parent-child relationships, and understanding the school system, will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Rancho Santiago College, at Bristol and 17th streets.
College district spokesman Dale Ruhe said that children are welcome and the event is free.
Additionally, complimentary bus service will be offered at all of SAUSD’s elementary schools beginning at 7 a.m. and ending shortly after 1 p.m. Child care, lunch and entertainment will also be provided at no charge.
The event is sponsored by the college and school districts, the city, Santa Ana 2000 and UC Irvine.
