World IN BRIEF : IRAQ : Arrest, Execution of High Officials Told

Travelers from Iraq said in Nicosia, Cyprus, that several senior Iraqi officials have been arrested and executed. Unconfirmed reports spoke of the execution of former Interior Minister Samir Abdel Wahab Shaykeli in a purge ordered by President Saddam Hussein. The travelers said the executions also included a number of senior military officers and officials of the ruling Arab Baath Socialist Party.
