Sid Thompson

The LAUSD faces challenges unequaled in its history, within a city trying desperately to heal. We need stability and the leadership of a trusted, respected educator. As administrators, representing senior high school principals and assistant principals, we concur with The Times in calling upon the school board to provide Thompson with a vote of confidence and a contract.

Thompson has served unselfishly for over 37 years, modeling a genuine belief in our responsibility to provide a quality education for all our children. With the support of the board, district employees and our community, he can lead this system, implement needed reform measures, and work to secure an adequate funding base for the students in this city.
