All About Oscar

I found Poundstone’s article humorous and truthful until I reached her idea for a closing film at the Oscar ceremonies. Perhaps instead of showing clips of movie shootings and newsreel footage of high school violence, maybe she should choose footage from films that kids view, such as “Friday the 13th” and “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.”
Also included could be footage of children returning home from school to an empty house or parents who are too wasted to recognized them. She could close with a black screen and the daily toll of children beaten by family members in white.
Then we could talk about taking chainsaws away from people who cut firewood and kitchen cutlery from anyone who cooks.
