Costa Mesa Rider Wins Scratch Main Event

COSTA MESA — Charlie Venegas of Costa Mesa won the four-lap scratch main event of the speedway motorcycle racing program Friday night at the Orange County Fairgrounds.

Chris Manchester of Hesperia finished second, Mike Faria of Apple Valley was third, and Bobby Schwartz of Costa Mesa fourth.

Gary Hicks of Riverside won the eight-lap handicap main and John Aden of Apple Valley finished second. Andy Northrup of Ontario was third and Rob Pfetzing of Orange finished fourth.
