Cypress Gives Coach His 250th Victory

Ryan Hamilton, who had three hits, doubled home Kevin Clark from first in the top of the 10th to help Cypress defeat Los Angeles Harbor, 7-6, in the championship game of the Hancock baseball tournament Friday in Santa Maria.
The victory was the 250th for Cypress Coach Scott Pickler, who has a 250-135 record over nine seasons.
Clark and Josh Kliner were named co-most valuable players. Clark had four hits Friday and finished with nine in three tournament games. Kliner had a school-record eight runs batted in during the Chargers’ semifinal victory Thursday.
Cypress’ Robbie Crabtree was named outstanding pitcher in the tournament.
