Liberals and Yugoslavia

I was disgusted when I read the article “Liberals Take a Shameful Pro-War Turn” written by John R. MacArthur in Column Left (March 18).
I do not blame MacArthur for being such a spineless demagogue, but he should not ask the United States government and its people to behave the same way. Bosnia and Herzegovina is not a “region wracked by violent religious and political factionalism.” He should already know that the war in Bosnia is a pure example of the aggression of one country, led by a fascist government, on another, sovereign country. If one can say that Muslims collaborated with the Nazis during the WWII, one can say the same for Russians and Americans.
The only idea of MacArthur’s with some sense is that the U.S. should get more liberal on granting Bosnians asylum. But that would not be necessary at all if his previous statements had not been the general politics of the U.N., EC and major Western governments.
