LOS ANGELES : LAPD Officer Kills Himself Outside Station

A veteran Los Angeles police officer died Wednesday as the result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound on the third-floor parking lot of Central Division station downtown, a police spokesman said.
The officer, whose name was withheld pending notification of relatives, was known to be “troubled by his personal life,” Police Cmdr. Dave Gascon said. The victim was described as a man who had been on the force several years and had a good service record.
