Seahawk Woman Scores 72 Points in 133-62 Win

Bridgete Williams, a 5-foot-6 sophomore guard for the Harbor College women’s basketball team, scored a school-record 72 points Wednesday night in the Seahawks’ 133-62 victory over Long Beach City College.
Williams, who attend Morningside High, was 32 for 52 from the field, including seven of 12 from three-point range, and one for two from the free-throw line. She also had eight rebounds, eight steals and five assists.
Williams’ previous career high was 65 points in the Seahawks’ 127-52 road victory over Vikings on Jan. 15.
Williams, who is averaging 39.5 points a game, is second in state scoring behind Karleen Shields of Contra Costa, who is averaging 41.8.
