Irvine Valley Wins Invitational Meet

IRVINE — Irvine Valley College won the women’s team title Friday in the Irvine Cross-Country Invitational at Irvine Regional Park.
Irvine Valley’s Nancy Hunsaker was fifth overall as the Lasers placed three runners in the top 10 and finished with 65 points. Long Beach was second with 79 and El Camino third at 141. America Rivas of Glendale won the race in 18 minutes 56 seconds. Sonja Hildebrand of Saddleback was third in 19:05 and Hunsaker ran 19:25.
Riverside won the men’s title with 16 points. The Tigers’ Alemayeuh Jimma set a course record, covering the four miles in 19:18.
